About the Maker

I came to jewellery-making as someone with a deep love of both traditional craft practices and earth sciences, this discipline feeling to me like the perfect combination of both worlds: getting to hone this historical craft of mine while working with beautiful, earthly materials is a joy I never tire of.

After nearly a decade's worth of experience in the jewellery industry in London, working alongside some of the United Kingdom's leading designers and craftspeople, I moved to the west coast of Norway, and now make my work from my Bergen studio using a combination of traditional goldsmithing techniques with a special focus on hand-carving intricate wax models that are then cast into metal. I specialise in hand-made small collections, made-to-order jewellery, and bespoke pieces, working with recycled precious metals as well as unique gemstones and organic materials sourced with great care from a small handful of trusted suppliers. You can read more about this here.

I strive to create objects that are beautiful and meaningful: ties to a particular place, time, feeling, or person. Jewellery is talismanic, and I make my pieces with the hope that they will be worn, enjoyed, and one day, passed down, along with the wearer's personal history and memory. I am especially inspired by the significance of the objects we choose to surround ourselves with in our daily lives, ancestral and traditional craft practices, ecological histories, and the space the latter two intersect. Some other through-lines of inspiration in my work are North African and Middle Eastern jewellery traditions, both in their own rights and as anchors to my own heritage, the mysticism and mythology around our bodies and our place in the natural world, and the breathtaking landscapes, weather, and light of my new Scandinavian home.
