FAQ
Can you tell me more about the process of commissioning a bespoke piece?
You can find a dedicated page about my bespoke process here. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss a potential project, please don't hesitate to send me an inquiry via my bespoke inquiry form!
I need something quicker than the outlined turnaround times!
While in stock items will be shipped in 2-5 working days, made to order items require around 3-6 weeks to make and ship - most pieces on the website are made-to-order unless otherwise noted. Please get in touch before placing your order with your desired timing so I can advise. Certain made-to-order pieces might be available more quickly than the stated turnaround times, especially if you are after a piece in sterling silver or a lower carat gold.
Do you offer payment plans?
Most bespoke work is paid for in installments, and I can occassionally accommodate payment plans for made-to-order pieces as well. Please get in touch to discuss.
I want a piece in a metal that isn't listed on that design's product page.
Not all gold alloys/colours are available on every listing, but in the majority of cases I can make most designs in most gold colour/alloys - just get in touch to discuss.
I don't know my ring size/the ring size of the person I am buying for. How do I find this out?
The best way to find this out is to get professionally sized by a jeweller - make sure they are measuring you with a ring sizer of a similar width to the ring you are hoping to purchase for the most accurate reading. Please kindly note that some of the styles I make cannot be resized due to their particular designs, so if you need any additional advice or are unsure about sizing, do reach out. There are fit notes on all ring listings.
What are your pieces made of?
My pieces are made out of solid precious metals. I do not offer any plated or gold vermeil pieces, as I make my pieces with their longevity in mind.
What metals do you work with?
I use a variety of different golds, from 9ct to 18ct, and most commonly use different yellow gold alloys. I also offer white, rose, and apricot golds. Some colours are reserved to a specific carat (such as apricot gold), so please get in touch for additional guidance. I also offer collection pieces in sterling silver, but I work primarily with gold when making bespoke work, and will only very exceptionally create silver bespoke pieces. At present, I do not work with platinum.
Do you work with lab-grown diamonds?
I do not work with lab-grown diamonds or indeed any lab-created material, and have no intention to do so. The allure of gemstones to me is that they are organic materials created by the earth, with their own distinct character and imperfections, the charm of which cannot be replicated. I also do not believe lab-grown gemstones to be an inherently more sustainable or ethical choice: it is extremely difficult to get transparent, impartial figures around the energy needed to create diamonds and other gems in a laboratory setting. I want to support communities that have historically been dependent on the gemstone trade and show that the demand for traceable, ethically sourced stones is stronger than ever, in the hope that more stringent labour and environmental frameworks become the norm in industry. I work with a small selection of suppliers paving the way in these areas, and have utmost trust in their work practices and ethics, which I am always happy to discuss in more detail.
I'd like to use my own gold or stones to make a new piece.
I'm happy to discuss reusing your own gold or heirloom gemstones, as long as these are natural and in good enough condition to be unset and reset safely, although this will need to be assessed on a case-by-case basis and is not always possible. Please fill out a bespoke form providing as much detail as you can regarding the materials you'd like to reuse/the pieces you'd like to remodel, along with some photos if possible, and we can take it from there!
I have some jewellery I need repaired/resized.
I do not offer resizing or repairs on pieces I have not made myself. If I did make your piece, please send me an email with some details and photos if possible, and I will get back to you about next steps.
